Yokio Hatoyama becomes the presumptive prime minister of Japan after leading the opposition Democratic Party to a landslide victory over the Liberal Democratic Party. Hatoyama campaigned on a platform to end American-dominated globalization, to reorient Japan towards Asia and to reconsider American military presence in Japan....stay tuned.

    They all wear ties, perfectly knotted. The good guys and the bad guys, the conservatives and the liberals. They all wear ties and they have the look of convention. And, because of those eight years of George W. Bush, it is a winning formula to run - anywhere in the world - against America. Wearing a tie and a good suit and talking aggressively about kicking Bush out of the country, wherever that country mioght be... Even though Bush is long gone. And hard to find.

    Yup, he made an easy target of us. My wife and I put off traveling to France until this year, in part because we didn't wish to be said target. I wonder how long before that's no longer a winning formula.
