Ball point pen on today's newsprint

Yesterday Paula Dean admitted on the Today Show that she was diagnosed three years ago with type 2 diabetes. Type 2 can be controlled or prevented with proper diet and exercise, but over those same three years Deen has promoted and profited from unhealthy eating through the broadcasting of her television show and the publishing of three cook books. Why is she admitting it now? Has she seen the light? Will she promote healthy eating? Not on your life y'all. Deen plans to parlay this culture of gluttony into more profits by teaming with a diabetes drug manufacturer to help y'all have your deep fried cake and eat it too.

Wow Larry, you do not sound like a Paula Dean fan. What you don't like to add butter to every dish you cook? Type 2 Diabetes, I am not surprised. While I enjoy her personality on television I am not a fan of what she cooks. I hope her health improves but if she eats what she cooks, sells and promotes . . . fat chance. Thanks for posting this and Good morning!

There are over 25 million Americans with diabetes and we spend hundreds of billions of dollars in treating the symptoms but little or nothing on the cause. She seems like a sweet, lovable person and I also wish her well with regards to her health but I think a netwok devoted to food should do a better job of promoting great food, not great personalities.
