A second generation politician, Kyl was a lobbyist before being elected to the house in 1986. He served in congress until 1995 when he won election to the US Senate. He is ranked as the 4th most conservative senator by the National Journal and has signed the no tax pledge (which makes you wonder how he will compromise with six democrats.) Kyl's  staunch pro life views landed him in the news recently when he went on the house floor and claimed that performing abortions is "well over 90 percent of what Planned Parenthood does." With 90-plus million viewers, ad agencies break out the top guns. This year CBS has agreed to air a controversial anti-abortion, pro-life ad, paid for by the conservative Christian group Focus on the Family. The ad features college football superstar Tim Tebow and his mom Pam Tebow. Tim has led his Florida Gators to their second national championship in three years.
