Ball point pen on today's newsprint Forged in industrial Detroit, the Pulitzer Prize winning, workingman's poet is named United States Poet Laureate by the Library of Congress. from today's NYT Library of Congress resources I liked this snippet from a 1994 Los Angeles Times article: An amateur boxer, Levine enjoyed physical work at first. He believed working with his hands would leave his mind free for poetry.
