Mariano Rivera

Ball point pen on today's newsprint

When Metallica's "Enter Sandman" begins to play on the stadium's PA system,  it's a very good night in the Bronx. Yankee fans look forward to sweet dreams while visiting ball clubs deal with the nightmare of Mo's wicked cutter.

For 18 seasons, Yankee fans have had the privileged to witness the best closer, maybe even the best pitcher, in the history of the baseball.

With a season ending injury to the 42 year old Mariano Rivera, Yankee fans are waking to the possibility that they will never see him pitch again and the team is contemplate a future without the greatest closer of all time.

A speedy recovery Mo.

So happy to have seen him pitch in person in my lifetime. It will be a long time before we see anybody that can come close to what he has done. Hes been the one constant thing in the yankee club.
