Ball point pen on today's newsprint

If you live in a swing state, you've probably witnessed the two presidential candidates whipping their horses down the home stretch. Here in New Jersey, it's a lazy afternoon stroll in the park. Despite having a republican governor, New Jersey isn't really up for grabs. We haven't voted republican for president since Ronald Reagan won 49 states. It's also an expensive state to campaign in, given it straddles the New York and Philadelphia markets. But still, it is a presidential election and aside from the news coverage and a few robo-calls, you'd hardly know there was a campaign going on. I don't even see yard signs. That feels very different from four years ago when there was real enthusiasm.
