More than 116,500 American troops were killed in France in WWI. There's an interesting article about the lengths some went to preserve the legacy of those that made the ultimate sacrifice. Knowing that dog tags would rust away, soldiers were buried with corked wine bottles containing their identities. Today those celebrating Armistice Day throughout Europe and Veterans Day here in the States will mourn our brave soldiers.
