Ball point pen on the morning newsprint

With his team ahead by six points and 2:08 to play in the fourth quarter, he elected not to punt, going for it on fourth and two on his own 28 yard line... No, that's not a typo, his team was ahead.  Everyone risks when they're behind, what have you got to loose? But, risking while you're ahead? The Patriots handed the ball over on downs to perhaps the best player in football and went on to loose to the Colts.

The dark eyes work. It was a crazy-risky move. If they converted the 2 yards to a 1st down Belichick would have been celebrated for being a risk-taker, a genius. Along with just about everybody else, I thought it was a bone-head move, maybe the biggest mistake made by a coach in recent NFL history. The only way he can truly redeem himself is to win the SuperBowl. Then I guess he can write a book about Risks, Redemption, and Rewards.

Thanks Vee, Another coach, Lou Holtz said "You're never s good as everyone tells you when you win, and you're never as bad as they say when you lose." Clearly Belichick was never the genius everyone said he was. The decision to go for it in that situation proves it.
