In order to have bipartisanship, you need two partisans but last night it became woefully obvious that there is no longer a Republican party. Bobby Jindal seems like a nice guy, and I’ve liked him in the few occasions I’ve seen him interviewed, but he wasn’t ready for prime time and his response to the president was painful to watch.

John McCain picks Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate, but Hurricane Gustav rains on the GOP parade truncating the planned events and speeches for the first day of the Republican National Convention.

Young, Ethnic, Southern, Conservative, McCain might choose Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal. Personally, I think McCain might do better running to the center and courting the independents, but it could make for an interesting campaign.
