The third term governor of Texas has allowed some reform to the criminal justice system of his state, but the death penalty is like religion or football to a Texan, and no Texas pol wants to go near that state’s third rail, not even making an exemption for the mentally ill.

Despite earning warnings, investors pushed Amazon to a new high this month. It turns out the warnings were justified. Amazon’s earnings dipped in the third quarter, the stock fell by $25.00 in one day shaving $16 billion from it’s market cap.  Ouch.
