Aug 16, 10 at 8:56 amGood morning, good sketch.
I like Petraeus but he’s trying to sell the public a lemon. Just curious, when then they say “public support” I’m assuming they’re talking about politicians, major media outlets and influential talking heads, ¿si?

Aug 16, 10 at 9:20 amWhen the guy in charge of all American and NATO forces in Afghanistan puts aside an hour to sit down with the New York Times and the same day appears on Meet The Press, it seems that gaining support for what’s becoming an increasingly unpopular war is as important as any task he may have. But while he’s talking to the press and talking heads, I have to believe his target is an increasingly skeptical public. With pols facing mid-term elections and the economy still sluggish, an unpopular war may be the straw that breaks the dems backs.
…and thanks VEe! for the kind words. You’ve been in my thoughts of late. I hope all is well with the young prince.
