It seems the more you read about David Levine, the more you realize how generous he was with his time and talent, not just to Mr. Tulka, who I am familiar but with so many who shared an interest in drawing.

Happy New Year

I was so sad to read this too, Larry. I loved his work. I think his drawings were done with such humor but mostly with such a sensitivity to them, for caricatures. I always loved his Eleanor Roosevelt as a swan, and his Blunt, and of course, that hilarious portrayal of Kissinger. Such a loss. (Are you familiar with Rick Tulka's work? David Levine was a mentor of his. I love his work as well...he lives in Paris ,and he works for Mad magazine, but he heads, every day, by bicycle, to the Le Select cafe and draws the patrons there. He's fabulous! here's a link to his website:

Happy New Year, Larry! Looking forward to your art in 2010.
