Ball point pen on the morning newsprint
The Yankees opened a new Stadium on Thursday. The house that Ruth built now stands empty across the street as the current crop of Yankees hope to build a winning tradition in their new digs. It was fitting that perhaps the greatest closer/relief pitcher of all time, Mariano Rivera, recorded the first ever save at the new stadium on Friday April 17th.

Apr 20, 09 at 4:06 pmI’m not the biggest Yankee fan, but you have to appreciate Rivera. It really kills me when the NY fans and media drag his name in the mud when doesn’t perform perfectly night-in, night-out.
I can only think to myself, good grief.
