73 year old beloved broadcaster is retiring half way through his six year deal with NBC Sports to spend more time with his family. Madden was a former Pro Football player, head coach for the Oakland Raiders, video game magnate, broadcaster and inductee in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. His unbridled enthusiasm, blue collar persona, descriptive and often humorous use of the telestator, and distinctive “Boom” call will be missed by football fans. He will be replaced on Sunday Night Football by Cris Collinsworth.

Apr 17, 09 at 10:14 amDon’t worry Dan, Collinsworth already gets enough exposer. Do you think there’s more than one of him? He works simultaneously for three different networks Fox, HBO, and NBC – and in his spare time he’s on the public speaking circuit. Look at this!
