When I think of Julia Child, it’s hard not to think of Dan Aykroyd’s hilarious impression of the french chef fumbling with a knife and bleeding all over the kitchen. But in reality Julia Child was not only a great chef, author, and television star; records released today reveal that Child served as a US spy for the Office of Strategic Services (the OSS). Created by Franklin Roosevelt during World War ll, the OSS was an earlier version of the CIA

Aug 14, 08 at 10:14 amLOL–It’s so true–his spot about her with the blood spurting out of her hands was an all-time classic. I read before that she was in the OSS but I guess I never thought of her as “spying” in that capacity! I always thought she was a remarkable woman. I loved her.

Aug 14, 08 at 10:53 amYes, I too seemed to remember that about her…, but then again, so was Chuck Barris right? The documents released today make Julia’s claim official and once again prove the axiom, truth is stranger than fiction.
